- In a video message, the hacking group vows to expose Mr. Musk’s real intentions
Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has been targeted by the Anonymous group. Their attack was over his cryptocurrency posting on Twitter that has resulted in the loss of funds for many of his devoted followers. These followers have bought or sold cryptos based on his comments.
The notorious group of hackers, Anonymous, has released a video message for Elon Musk. They labeled the Tesla Chief Executive as “nothing more than another narcissistic rich dude who is desperate for attention.” The decentralized international activist movement is responsible for some of the biggest data leaks in modern history. Anonymous has set its gaze on Mr. Musk in light of his “trolling on social media”, as the video describes.
Elon Musk Destroying Crypto Holders’ Lives with Memes and Twitter Posts
“Reading from the comments on your Twitter posts, it seems that the games you have played with the crypto markets have destroyed lives,” the narrator in the video message said. “Millions of retail investors were really counting on their crypto gains to improve their lives.”
The Anonymous voiceover acknowledges that “of course, they took the risk upon themselves when they invested and everyone knows to be prepared for volatility in crypto, but your tweets this week show a clear disregard for the average working person.”
They concluded the topic of his power to sway the markets with his Twitter posts. They stated: “As hard-working people have their dreams liquidated over your public temper tantrums, you continue to mock them with memes from one of your million-dollar mansions.”
Anonymous mentioned Elon Musk’s ambition to centralize and control bitcoin. He plans to do this by creating a Bitcoin Mining Council alongside Michael Saylor, MicroStrategy CEO and an outspoken Bitcoin evangelist.
Anonymous Cast Light on Elon Musk’s Dark Corporate Side
The Anonymous group described Elon Musk’s quest to save the world through electric cars and space exploration as one “rooted in a superiority and savior complex” rather than “an actual concern for humanity”. Anonymous proceeded to talk about Mr. Musk’s relentless pursuit of profits. Profits that are chased at the expense of the health and safety of Tesla workers, all described in an article in the Observer.
In addition, they also referenced to another piece, this time on The Times, titled “Blood batteries’ fuel the fortune of Elon Musk”. The video also talks about Mr. Musk’s self-coronation as “The Emperor of Mars”, as explained in an article on the Entrepreneur. There’s also a mention of how his family purchased and operated an emerald mine in Zambia as outlaid in an article on the Business Insider South Africa.
“Your fanboys overlook these issues because they are focused on the potential good that your projects can bring to the world,” Anonymous stated. The video message was released on Saturday. It ends with a direct message to the Tesla and SpaceX CEO: “You may think you are the smartest person in the room, but now you’ve met your match. We are anonymous. We are Legion. Expect us.” The video can be found here.
